To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the movie's release, it has been decided to release a two-disc CD set of the legendary film composer Jerry Goldsmith's representative works!
A worldwide hit film directed by Paul Verhoeven, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone, featuring "RoboCop" and "Basic Instinct".
Depicting a near-future setting, this masterpiece is considered a culmination of Goldsmith's superb technique, with over 40 years of experience as a musician, and is also regarded as one of his late-career major works.
Before the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Goldsmith himself conducted, blending synthesizer and orchestra, creating an exhilarating storm of sound and a spectacular, powerful soundtrack for a big-budget action film.
In this release, Disc 1 contains tracks recorded as Goldsmith composed and performed them, in the order used in the film.
Meanwhile, Disc 2 is a complete reissue of the soundtrack album released in 1990, with additional alternative tracks and source music.
These audio sources total over two and a half hours, and have been remixed and remastered from digital multitrack recordings, which were meticulously handled by Bruce Botnick, who has worked on many of Goldsmith's works.
The liner notes include a luxurious 24-page booklet featuring interviews with director Paul Verhoeven, among other content.
The jacket of this 30th-anniversary edition features an illustration by Kyle Lambert, known for posters of "Stranger Things".
A theatrical release of the 30th-anniversary 4K digital remaster version is scheduled for Friday, November 27!
