商品紹介
サトウキビから作られたフランス領レユニオン島産の“きび砂糖"(通称デメラーラ砂糖)。日常幅広く使っている上白糖やグラニュー糖が原料を絞った汁から蜜をふり分けて精製し、結晶を取り出して作られる分蜜糖であるのに対し、きび砂糖とは絞り汁をそのまま煮詰めて作られる含蜜糖に属します。一般的な含蜜糖(黒砂糖等)はサトウキビの豊富なミネラル分と同時に不純物(苦みやアク)も多く含んでいますが、“きび砂糖"はその不純物だけを取り除きミネラル分はそのままなので、今までの砂糖に無かった独特なコクのあるおいしさが味わえます。粒は四角い結晶状で透明感があります。口に含むとグラニュー糖風にカリカリとしており、後味にくどさが残らない品のある甘みを持ちます。イタリア中部モデナ市にあるトスキ社によってパッキングされたシュガヴィッレは、同社の広い流通網にのり、ヨーロッパを中心に全世界へ販売されています。エスプレッソの本場イタリアでも、コーヒーに最適、と評判です。
