The monorail began operation in 1964 (Showa 39), coinciding with the Tokyo Olympics and the opening of the Tokaido Shinkansen, with the section between Monorail Hamamatsucho Station and (former) Haneda Station. In 2010, Haneda Airport International Terminal Station opened, establishing the 17.8km route between Monorail Hamamatsucho Station and Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Building Station. In addition to local trains, the operating schedule includes section rapid and airport rapid services, aiming to improve speed and convenience. The maximum speed is 80 km/h, the fastest for a monorail in Japan. Its journey through Tokyo's high-rise buildings and scenic waterfront spots, weaving left and right, is like a roller coaster in the heart of the city. You can enjoy a variety of scenery, including uphill and downhill slopes, over the sea, through tunnels, and on large curves. The driver's view footage was filmed with a high-definition camera, capturing daytime runs (Day Cruise) with views of the bright blue sea and sky, and nighttime runs (Night Cruise) with spectacular city night views.
