Tokyo Wangan Kutoujima Driving Scene" (Video Production: EdoTyouninZ)
"During the Edo period, there was a reef in Tokyo Bay on which nine Japanese-style lighthouses (kagariya, or lighthouse platforms) were built, and it came to be called "Kutoujima" (Kyutoujima, new character: Kutonjima) at some time. Later, as time passed from Meiji to Taisho to early Showa era, the lighthouse was changed to a western style, and nine modern buildings were built on the reef..."
This is a work with many fantasy elements in a fictional setting at. The rail, which is capable of automatic return trip operation, has a total length of approximately 2 m. It ascends and descends with a height difference of approximately 140 mm in one and a half revolutions in a spiral state. It is driven back and forth by a power pack with an automatic reciprocating function.
All buildings, bridges, etc. are full scratch by original design. (Some materials such as roof tiles, utility poles, and dolls are made by manufacturers.)
>Half of the structures were created from new patterns, which were cut and engraved with a laser cutter from the original CAD data. The other half of the structures were previously stocked and produced entirely by hand.
Around 2011-2012, when I started exploring the creation of objects using diorama techniques, I tried to create some buildings in the style of "Gunkanjima" in Nagasaki Prefecture, but I did not have a laser cutter at the time and got lost in the detailed expression of the steel trusses of the coal mine facilities (the reason being that it is difficult to express detailed trusses at a scale of 1/150 by hand). However, I did not have a laser cutter at the time, and I got lost in the detailed expression of the steel trusses of the coal mine facilities (the reason being that it is difficult to express detailed trusses at a scale of 1/150 by hand), so I put the buildings in a cardboard box for many years and incorporated them into the layout after changing the concept.
There seem to be a surprisingly large number of reefs in Tokyo Bay. One that comes to mind personally is "Jogashima" at the tip of the Miura Peninsula, a scenic spot with dynamic scenery, but it seems that lighthouses were properly located in such places.
The original scene setting of thework, "a cluster of dense buildings on a reef jutting out into the sea," is actually not very realistic. Moreover, there is a tram going up and down a steep slope there, and as a result, the work is in a "fantasy world.
