Originating from Nagoya fishing techniques, "Mid Strolling" was introduced as a tournament technique to conquer the middle layer.
To skillfully control line slack and make the lure swim, it required ideas and designs that Fenwick did not have at the time.
Among such innovations, the TAV-GP64SULJ "Mid Strolling Special" was born, the world's first rod dedicated to mid-strolling.
In an era that prioritized high sensitivity, this rod had a concept that could be considered the complete opposite, and was clearly regarded as an outlier.
However, the action of this rod gave "life" to the lure and became one of the legendary rods known for making even finicky bass bite.
Now, to celebrate Fenwick's 70th anniversary, we revisited the origins of "Mid Strolling" and redesigned the taper.
Unlike the current lineup, which features a more delicate rolling lure concept called "Flashing Mid Stroll," this model returns to the original concept of the first-generation 64SUL J, which gently controls line slack.
With a taper that gradually bends from the tip to the belly and a guide setting designed to freely control line slack,
it was completed as a rod capable of producing the best lure action that "calls bites."
Additionally, by reviewing the overall balance of the rod, we succeeded in reducing wobble near the grip and alleviating fatigue.
It is a versatile rod suitable not only for jig head swimming but also for jig head wacky, downshot shacking, and surface i-shape or shad applications.
