[Kenji Kawai PROFILE]
Born April 23, 1957, in Tokyo. After working as a guitarist, he made his film debut in 1986 with Mamoru Oshii's "The Red Spectacles".
He has composed for Oshii Mamoru's works such as "GHOST IN THE SHELL / Ghost in the Shell," "AVALON," "Innocence," "The Sky Crawlers," among others, as well as for director Hideo Nakata's films "Ring," "Ring 2," "Glass Brain," "Chaos," "Dark Water," "Kaidan," "L change the WorLd," "Inception," "Kuroyuri Apartment," "MONSTERZ," director Hojo Tsutomu's "Prophecy," "Orochi," director Shimizu Takashi's "Reincarnation," director Kaneko Shusuke's "Death Note," "Death Note: The Last Name," director Max Mannix's "Rain Fall," Masakatsu Tsukada's "Wandering Blade," director Seiji Mizushima's "Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A Wakening of the Trailblazer," director Sato Shinsuke's "Shura Yukihime," "GANTZ," director Ebin Tadashi's "Sadako 3D," and Osamu Yamasaki's "Hakuoki" among others.

As a pioneer of multi-media development including comics, anime, and novels, "Mobile Police Patlabor" has gained many passionate fans.
This completely original live-action project, directed by Mamoru Oshii who also worked on the anime series, features full-scale models of about 8 meters in length,
including a life-sized Labor and a section two dock building. With a new generation of characters, it started in April 2014 as "THE NEXT GENERATION Patlabor."
In this film, the culmination of that effort, the fight against terrorism that could happen in present-day Japan and the police organization’s battle against it are depicted on an extremely realistic and grand scale, except for the single fantasy that "the police have humanoid robots".

In the late 20th century, to prepare for crimes related to the rapid spread of humanoid robots called Labor, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police established the Special Vehicle Section 2 Patlabor Unit.
Now, as Labor decline turns the unit into a burden for the police, a terrorist group seizes a top-secret combat helicopter from the Self-Defense Forces, taking 10 million people in the capital hostage!
The AH-88J2 Kai Gray Ghost—fully armed with machine guns, ground rockets, missiles, and equipped with the latest thermal optical camouflage—is an invisible combat helicopter that begins its assault on the Rainbow Bridge and ravages the capital.
Can Section 2 stop the terrorists’ reckless acts?!
Now, the battle between outdated police robots and the latest combat helicopter begins!
