Born April 23, 1957, in Tokyo. After working as a guitarist, he made his film debut in 1986 with Mamoru Oshii's "The Red Spectacles".
In addition to Oshii Mamoru's works such as "GHOST IN THE SHELL / Ghost in the Shell," "AVALON," "Innocence," "The Sky Crawlers," he has participated in many other films and TV series, including works directed by Hideo Nakata such as "Ring," "Ring 2," "Glass Brain," "Chaos," "Dark Water," "Kaidan," "L change the WorLd," "Inception," "Kuroyuri Apartments," "MONSTERZ," and others.
He has also worked on movies by directors such as Hojo Tsutomu, Shimizu Takashi, Kaneko Shusuke, Max Mannix, Masakazu Mashiko, Seiji Mizushima, Satoshi Kon, and others. TV series include "Maison Ikkoku," "Ranma 1/2," "Mobile Police Patlabor," "Fate/stay night," "The Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit," "Eden of the East," "Mobile Suit Gundam 00," and more. He has also contributed to overseas works including French films "SAMOURAIS," "BLOODY MALLORY," a French documentary "Reviving World War II - Black-and-White Films in Color," Korean films "Antarctic Diary," "Beautiful Beast," Hong Kong films "Seven Swords," "Kachikomi! Dragon Tiger Gate," "Ip Man," "The Legend of the Seven Brothers," and collaborative films "Mokkō," "Genome Hazard: The Five Days of a Genius Scientist."
