[Music] Koji Endo (Profile)
Started jazz guitar at age 19, studied under Koichi Hiroki at age 21. Began performing in sessions and other activities.
At age 24, became interested in film music, and started composing and arranging for movies, TV, commercials, videos, etc., and from age 25, pursued full-scale composition.
Creates a wide range of music using various styles without being confined to pre-existing musical styles.

Lion Standing in the Wind

From a famous song to a novel, and then to a film. An epic and moving masterpiece.
"Lion Standing in the Wind," a song released by Masashi Sada in 1987. Inspired by the autobiography of a Japanese doctor involved in medical outreach in Kenya, Africa, this song is a grand-scale letter to his lover left in Japan, telling a story of love and hope.
Enamored with this song, actor Takao Osawa passionately wished to adapt it into a novel and film, leading to this project.
The director is Takashi Miike, a highly acclaimed and visionary filmmaker who led the blockbuster success of Osawa’s film "Wara no Tate."
Takao Osawa plays the protagonist Koichiro, a doctor working in Kenya, driven by a longing for his distant homeland, confronting a former child soldier with a wounded heart.
Supporting him is nurse Wakako, played by popular young actress Satomi Ishihara, known for her quick skills and efficiency.
The role of Takako, Koichiro’s lover left in Japan, is played by Yoko Maki, who won both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the 2014 Japan Academy Awards.
Other talented actors include Seiji Hagiwara, Ryohei Suzuki, and Renji Ishibashi.

[Story]
In 1987, Japanese doctor Koichiro (Takao Osawa) is dispatched from a university hospital to a research facility in Kenya.
Inspired by the autobiography of Albert Schweitzer, who dedicated his life to African medicine, Koichiro sees this as a golden opportunity.
However, it also means a long separation from his lover, Takako (Yoko Maki), who is practicing medicine as a female doctor on a remote island.
With ideals in his heart, Koichiro is engaged in research and clinical work, but after six months, he receives a one-month dispatch request from a local Red Cross hospital.
He initially visits out of curiosity but is shocked to find that the injured boys brought in are all child soldiers injected with drugs, fighting on a battlefield, and he volunteers to transfer to this hospital.
Despite the harsh conditions, Koichiro works energetically and earns the trust of the medical team.
Meanwhile, Wakako (Satomi Ishihara), a nurse dispatched to the same hospital, recognizes Koichiro’s skills and efficiency, and they occasionally clash but come to respect each other.
Koichiro, who warmly embraces the wounded boys with the words "Okay, Daijoubu," becomes a good friend and mentor to them.
One day, a boy soldier named Ndung is brought into the hospital.
He is more traumatized by witnessing his parents’ murder than by gunshot wounds, his heart scarred by drugs and trauma.
Koichiro faces his inner darkness head-on, trying to heal his wounds...
