While at university, she performed Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2, and in 1942, her symphonic poem "Knight in Armour" was performed by Henry Wood at the Proms. During the war, she became principal oboist for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, but after returning to London post-war, her performance opportunities decreased, leading her to focus on composing chamber music and teaching. This album features her chamber works for oboe and cor anglais composed between 1938 and 1990. Juliana Koch is the principal oboist of the London Symphony Orchestra. In 2018, she was appointed Professor of Oboe at the Royal College of Music, where she is dedicated to nurturing future generations.
