Contents (from "BOOK" database): Corporal Katagiri, using his authority as a superior officer and with Captain Horie in the background, interrogates Taro Todo, making a big deal out of a "doodle" Todo drew without any ulterior motive. Todo, while surprised and dismayed by Katagiri's insidious methods based on the twisted logic of a "turncoat" that emerges from this, calmly questions and confronts him. Meanwhile, as the investigation into the incident that shook the internal affairs unit progresses by each squad leader, it becomes clear that suspicion is increasingly gathering around Fuyuki as the culprit. Through a letter from his former colleague Sugiyama from his newspaper days, Todo learns the truth about Fuyuki's past and how it casts a dark shadow over him, attracting suspicion. However, the testimonies he hears from Hashimoto, Hachida, and others convince Todo of the existence of the "real culprit"... The fifth volume, with the supplementary soldier training period more than halfway over, awaits the approach of a major turning point.
