The Beatles' last film, "Let It Be," which marked its 50th anniversary in 2020, was announced to be re-edited into a new film titled "Get Back," but this release was postponed. Until now, "Let It Be" had not been officially released on DVD by Apple; only footage from old videos and TV broadcasts was available. The definitive version as of now is the 2016 SGt. Premium Collector's Edition, which included a remastered version with restoration work by Ron Furmanek, who handled the Beatles' footage. This version improved picture quality over previous videos and TV broadcasts, and replaced some audio sources with real stereo from Apple Studio and the Rooftop performance, making it the best quality version. It also included the complete, uncut end credits (not included in HMC releases), which was the first-ever exclusive recording.

This new edition fully features the soundtrack of the film, remastered in full real stereo sound. The early parts recorded at Twickenham Studio, previously only available in mono, now feature authentic real stereo, including the Apple Studio and Rooftop segments. The soundtrack on CD includes the latest remaster, and for the first time, the "Rooftop Concert"—which was previously edited and only available in pseudo-stereo—has been fully restored in real stereo, including dialogue, warm-up segments, and unedited parts. The legendary 40-minute rooftop performance is now revived in the highest quality stereo sound.

The DVD contains the current best-quality, uncut 1992 version of the film, newly remastered and edited. It includes the original Japanese subtitles (on/off) and offers both the "latest stereo remaster" audio option and the original 1992 stereo/mono mix, allowing listeners to compare the differences via audio switching. This edition is also recommended as an upgraded, supplementary version of the SGt. Premium Collector's Edition, representing the definitive remaster.
