A new compilation of the "Get Back Sessions," the origin of The Beatles' final album "Let It Be," arrives! The "Get Back Sessions," which began on January 2, 1969, initially started rehearsals at Twickenham Film Studios but faltered when George temporarily left, and remained as film documentation without proper recording equipment. Later, the location moved to Apple headquarters, and with George's return and the suggestion to bring in Billy Preston on keyboards, the sessions restarted with a multitrack recording system engineered by Glyn Johns. This collection documents the authentic multitrack recording sessions that began at Apple Studios, from January 21 to January 31, based on sound source reels, presented in real stereo versions through the latest restored editing, combining existing A-roll and B-roll mono sound sources for filming. Compared to the scattered sessions at Twickenham in the first half, the restarted sessions at Apple Studios, with the introduction of multitrack recording, proceeded with renewed vigor. The session records capture the process of completing representative numbers like "Get Back," "Let It Be," "Two of Us," and "The Long and Winding Road." While excluding incomplete and fragmented performances, excessively long studio chatter, and silent parts, it includes unmissable highlights such as The Beatles' oldies like "Love Me Do," "Help!," "Lady Madonna," and rock and roll covers by Buddy Holly and others. A key feature is the new restoration and editing of fragments and noise originating from the source material, with efforts made to minimize or reduce the volume of critical in-song cuts, noise, and the recurring troublesome BEEP sounds, presenting previously unreleased upgraded remastered sound sources distinct from numerous past session recordings.
