Nihonbashi's Vibrancy in Your Hands – Shino Kamogawa × Chusen Tenugui
Nihonbashi, the heart of Edo, where people and culture converged.
This single piece depicts the town's timeless bustle, from soba and tempura restaurants, sushi and eel shops, to banks and long-established department stores, rendered with warm lines and colors.
This is a collaboration tenugui between designer Shino Kamogawa and Todaya Shoten.
Wipe your hands, wrap items, or decorate – each use allows you to bring the vitality of Nihonbashi, continuing from the Edo period, into your daily life.
Framed and displayed, it instantly brightens a room and can spark conversation. It's also perfect for seasonal decorations or store displays.
The design, evoking the story of Edo culture, makes it an ideal gift for those overseas or for loved ones. You can easily deliver a "Nihonbashi journey."
Chusen Dyeing Brand "Rien Zome"
Rien Zome is a brand by Todaya Shoten, a long-established shop founded in the Meiji era.
Chusen is a unique Japanese traditional dyeing technique characterized by its vibrant dyeing on both sides of the fabric by pouring dye onto it. The beauty of the bleeding and blurring is a unique artisanal touch that cannot be replicated by machine dyeing.
Rien Zome tenugui are highly absorbent and quick-drying, making them perfect for everyday use. They become softer with each wash, conforming to your skin, so you can enjoy them for a long time.
The designs range from traditional patterns that capture the essence of Edo to modern designs that fit contemporary lifestyles. Combining practicality and design, they are also ideal as gifts.
