"Installation Method" (1) Remove the strap connecting the lid and the fuel cap: The strap's clasp can be removed by tilting it to one side and then twisting.
(2) Apply tape to the fuel opening: Remove the fuel cap and cover the opening with masking tape to prevent bolts or other items from falling inside.
(3) Replace the lid: Remove the two bolts, take off the lid from the car body, and attach the lid cover.
It is easier to install if you pass the upper bolt through first.
At this point, do not tighten the bolts completely. Once partially secured, partially secure the lower bolt in the same way.
Close the lid once to check for any distortion and to ensure it doesn't open with a light push. If there are no problems, tighten the bolts firmly.
(4) Remove the strap from the fuel cap: Push the cap inward to create a gap in the ring, and insert a trim removal tool or a flathead screwdriver.
Using the principle of leverage, place the ring over the cap, and then the strap will come off by pushing with your finger.
"Points during installation" *The hinges of the lid cover are intentionally made stiff to prevent them from opening too wide or the lid from closing while refueling, so this is not a defect.
*In the unlikely event that the lid does not close properly, it will close neatly if you lightly push the base of the clasp outward.
