Enmei Tea from Kurohime Kampo Medicine Research Institute is a flavorful health tea made from five types of folk herbal wild grasses: Habu Tea (Ebisu Grass), Job's Tears, Goji Leaves, Kumazasa (bamboo grass), and Enmei Grass.

Founder Makoto Kano, after World War II, settled as a pioneering farmer at the foot of Mount Kurohime in Shinshu.

Witnessing the plight of settlers who died from hunger and illness due to lack of food and medical care, he began making tea from wild grasses such as Kumazasa and Enmei Grass harvested in the mountains. People praised it as "Really delicious tea that’s good for the body," and he continued researching to make it even more delicious and healthful.

Eventually, the health tea he developed was affectionately called "Unmee Tea" by the people. The name "Enmei Tea" was chosen because the founder always kept in mind the existence of "Enmei Jizo," a figure believed to save all people and extend life.

◆ How to Drink

For teapots or personal bottles: Place one tea bag in a teapot, pour about 200 ml of hot water, and steep for 2-3 minutes. You can drink it at your preferred strength until the color no longer appears. For personal bottles, use about 500 ml of hot water per bag.

For boiling: When making in a kettle, add two tea bags to 1 liter of water, bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes. Adjust the steeping time according to your preferred strength. ※Please consume the tea on the same day if not refrigerated after boiling.

For pots (1-2 liters): Place 2-3 tea bags in the pot, pour hot water, and prepare as needed for convenience.

For cold brew: Pour 500 ml of water over one tea bag, refrigerate for 2-3 hours, then remove the tea bag and enjoy. Adjust the strength to your liking. ※Please store in the refrigerator and consume as soon as possible.
