The "Shiawase no Mon'yō" (Patterns of Happiness) series is an original design by Fuwa Market, created in collaboration with textile designers, focusing on the meaning of "wishing for happiness" inherent in traditional Japanese patterns.
One of the series, the Ume (plum blossom) pattern, has been loved since ancient times for its beauty, vitality, nobility, and fragrant image.
The motif, considered auspicious, has been modernized to harmonize with contemporary lifestyles.
✔ Skilled craftsmanship: Carefully finished one by one at specialized factories✔ Modern traditional patterns: Six types of patterns available in two colors each, offering a variety of choices✔ Double lid structure: Outer lid and inner lid to preserve the freshness and aroma of tea✔ Suitable for high-quality gifts: "Shiawase no Mon'yō" conveys special sentiments
Keeps tea leaves beautiful and secure, enriching your tea time.
The tea canister holds approximately 150g. Made of lightweight, rust-resistant, durable steel. It has high light-blocking properties and minimal odor transfer, ensuring the flavor of the tea leaves is preserved.
The inner lid, also made of steel, provides a tight seal to protect the tea leaves from moisture and maintain freshness. You can enjoy delicious tea anytime. The inner lid features a handle for smooth opening and closing.
It also maintains appropriate humidity and temperature, making it suitable for storing matcha, tea bags, herbal teas, coffee beans, dried foods, spices, and sweets that need protection from moisture.
You can fill it with sweets or tea to create small gifts, or use it as a storage container for small items.
A reliable item that quietly accompanies your daily tea time, combining a calm presence with practicality.
Details that highlight the charm of hand-dyed craftsmanship
The washi paper used for this tea canister is an original Fuwa Market design. It is hand-dyed by yuzen washi dyeing artisans at a specialized factory in Kyoto.
The traditional techniques produce deep, rich colors and a unique texture. When viewed up close, the delicate overlapping of colors characteristic of hand-dyeing is evident.
Subtle gradations and bleeding enhance the handcrafted feel, creating a one-of-a-kind beauty.
Each print is carefully dyed to produce depth and warmth that cannot be achieved with simple printing.
The finishing touches emphasize Japanese beauty and craftsmanship, allowing you to feel the meaning of traditional patterns and the artistry each time you use it.
Please experience the warmth and texture created by the artisans' handwork.
The Wishes and Prayers Embedded in the Plum Blossom Pattern
The plum blossom symbolizes good health and safety.
A delicate flower that blooms proudly amid cold winter winds. Its faint sweet fragrance heralds the arrival of spring.
The vivid colors of red, pink, and white in the quiet winter landscape evoke a sense of life’s breath.
Many poems themed around "ume" (plum) are recorded in Japan’s oldest poetry anthology, the Manyoshu, captivating people since ancient times.
A traditional auspicious item related to plum is "Daifuku-cha," a tea infused with pickled plums and kelp, traditionally drunk on New Year’s Day. Its origin traces back to the Heian period, when Emperor Murakami drank it during illness and recovered.
It has since been enjoyed as a wish for health and safety throughout the year.
The series is available in two warm, inviting colors: a rich red tone and a bright, cheerful yellow tone. While subdued, these colors are distinctive and perfect for enhancing your tea time.
*Please note that since the patterns are made by cutting large sheets of paper, there may be individual differences in pattern placement. Thank you for your understanding.*
