The goal was to achieve “point as point” ultra-high image quality. To do this, all aberrations that lead to image quality degradation were thoroughly eliminated. In particular, axial chromatic aberration, which is prominent in large aperture lenses, and sagittal coma flare, which causes image quality deterioration around the periphery of the frame, were eliminated to the extreme.
The design philosophy of the Model F045 is similar to Tamron’s traditional 90mm F/2.8 macro, with smooth and beautiful bokeh in both front and back out-of-focus areas. Axial chromatic aberration was thoroughly eliminated, resulting in beautiful, colorless, and seamlessly melting bokeh in both front and back.
The BBAR-G2 coating used in this model further suppresses ghosting and flare more than ever before, allowing detailed rendering of the subject even in backlit conditions. This technology achieves overwhelming clarity and a crisp expression.
