Product Introduction
This is a 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit of the American Navy F-14A Tomcat, which flew as the world's most powerful air defense fighter from 1970 until its retirement in 2006.
The F-14A was also exported to Iran, where it is still maintained independently and deployed on the front lines as a mainstay of air defense.
The kit standardly includes three types of air-to-air missiles: AIM-54A Phoenix, among others.
The canopy is reproduced with an Ω cross-section using slide molds. It can be assembled with the opening and closing options after completion.
It includes two figures: a seated pilot and a radar intercept officer.
The engine nozzles are provided in two states: narrowed for cruise and fully open for afterburner use.
The refueling glove on the right side of the aircraft includes parts for both deployed and stowed states, allowing assembly with or without the cover.
The variable-sweep main wings use a core spar insertion method after aircraft assembly, facilitating painting.
The left and right main wings are reliably linked via gear engagement.
To address gaps that occur when the wings are moved, two types of 'airbag' and 'sealing panel' parts are included to fill the gaps on the upper surface of the wing gloves. These can be exchanged even after assembly.
Slide decals include three options: two from the popular Hi-Vis era and one for the Iranian Air Force.
Color painting diagrams and real aircraft reference materials are included.
The main painting instructions recommend using "86516 AS-16 Light Gray (USAF)" and "85027 TS-27 Matte White."
※This product is a plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting.
※Assembly and painting require additional adhesives, tools, paints, etc.
