**About the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer Mount Version**
The Sherman series, a masterpiece tank that produced approximately 50,000 units during World War II and led the Allied forces to victory, has many variants. Among them, the version developed for fire support is the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer Mount Version.

This model features a welded steel plate hull and is powered by an air-cooled, nine-cylinder, radial engine manufactured by Continental Motors, based on aircraft engines. The power transmission system is a rear engine, front-drive layout, equipped with a five-speed forward and one-speed reverse transmission. The 105mm gun can fire high-explosive shells, smoke grenades, and incendiary rounds.

The later model, which was improved from the VVSS (Vertical Volute Spring Suspension) to the HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension), with approximately 840 units produced, was deployed across a wide range of theaters from Europe to the Pacific. It was actively engaged in frontline tank battles, mainly providing fire support for infantry and attacking fortified positions, utilizing its large-caliber gun to lead the charge.

**Control Differential Steering System of the M4 Sherman**
During World War II, most tanks used a "clutch-brake system" steering mechanism, which involved braking the sprocket on the turning side to decelerate and create a rotational difference between the tracks. This allowed for skid steering, where one track is completely stopped to turn sharply.

However, during gentle turns, delicate operation of brakes and clutches was required, which caused drive loss and structural issues such as brake overheating. The M4 Sherman was equipped with a "Crettract" type "control differential steering system" to solve these problems.

While the basic principle of braking one sprocket during turning remains the same, an internal differential gear allows one side to be slowed down with a brake, while the other speeds up, enabling smooth turns with a nearly constant turning radius. Additionally, because the tracks do not fully stop during gentle turns, drive loss is minimized, and brake overheating issues are overcome.

This advanced mechanism greatly enhanced maneuverability and was highly regarded. Many U.S. military vehicles, including the M4 Sherman, M24, M8, and M2 fast tractor, adopted this system, significantly contributing to the Allied victory.

**Adopting a Realistic Steering Mechanism for RC Cars, Allowing Operation Similar to Actual Vehicles**
- This is a 1/16 scale electric radio-controlled tank kit reproducing the M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer Mount Version.
- Equipped with a "control differential" steering system similar to the actual vehicle.
- The drive sprocket, suspension arms, and idler wheel base are made of metal.
- The HVSS (Horizontal Suspension System) uses metal coil springs and is fully movable.
- The tracks are made of hard plastic, with connecting pins and connectors made of metal, pre-assembled for connection.

**RC M4 Sherman Steering System**
The RC M4 Sherman is equipped with a steering system that operates on a mechanism essentially the same as the actual control differential steering system.

A 540 motor transmits power through a differential unit mounted at the front of the chassis to the left and right sprockets. When both tracks rotate at the same speed, the tank moves straight; when a difference occurs, it turns.

Steering is controlled by a steering servo that brakes one side of the brake disc on each side of the differential unit. Braking the right side causes a turn to the right; braking the left side causes a turn to the left.

Furthermore, a pair of planetary gearboxes built into the differential unit functions as a differential gear, reducing one side's speed while increasing the other's, enabling smooth turning.

**Basic Specifications**
- Overall length: 376mm
- Overall width: 183mm
- Overall height: 205mm
- Comes with one 540 drive motor for movement
- Speed controller: ESC (sold separately)

**Additional Items Required**
- FineSpec 2.4G Electric RC Drive Set
- Four AA batteries for the transmitter
