In 1951, the history of Uede Eyewear began with "Tokiwa Uede," the grandfather of the current president. We have been advancing eyewear manufacturing in the Kawada district, a small town in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, the birthplace of eyewear.The know-how of eyewear manufacturing was then established and passed down to the second generation, Susumu Uede.In 2019, the original brand "TOKIWA" was established by the third generation, Takayuki Uede.It was rebranded to "TOKIWA made" in December 2021.
