In 1951, the history of Uede Glasses began with "Tokiwa Uede," the current president's grandfather. Eyewear manufacturing began in the Kawada district of Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, the birthplace of Japanese eyewear.The know-how of eyewear manufacturing was then established and passed down to the second generation, Susumu Uede.In 2019, the original brand "TOKIWA" was established by the third generation, Takayuki Uede.It was rebranded to "TOKIWA made" in December 2021.
