2019年に初演された「World Dreams」と「魔女の宅急便」の2大組曲を軸に久石メロディを堪能できるW.D.O.2019コンサートライヴ盤。「Symphonic Suite “Kiki’s Delivery Service”」(「魔女の宅急便」組曲)は、1989年公開の宮崎駿監督作品『魔女の宅急便』初となる交響組曲。軽めのヨーロピアンサウンドを目指して書かれていたサウンドトラックを、久石譲自身が映画の世界観を追体験できる組曲に仕立て直した。「[Woman] for Piano Harp, Percussion and Strings」は、アルバム『Another Piano Stories』に収録されていた3つの作品が、ピアノと弦楽オーケストラ、ハープとパーカッションによる三部作[Woman]として生まれ変わった。組曲「World Dreams」World Dream Orchestra(W.D.O.)のテーマ曲として2004年に作曲された「World Dreams」に、2019年に委嘱された2つのオリジナル曲(NTV『皇室日記』より「Diary」、アイシンAW50周年祈念事業映像メインテーマ曲より「Driving to Future」)を組み入れ、3楽章に構成しなおされた。長年久石が温めてきたWorld Dreamsの組曲化の構想が実現した作品。 (C)RS
