The Japanese rock band “Pay money To my Pain,” which is already legendary among teenagers and twenty-somethings, was formed in 2004, made their major debut in 2006, and rapidly ascended to a unique presence with their sharpened sensibility that leaves others behind. Everyone saw hope for the future of the loud rock scene in them. However, on December 30, 2012, vocalist K suddenly passed away. Then, on December 30, 2013, the band went on hiatus. Seven years later, they received a fervent offer from “coldrain,” a direct subordinate of their label and a leading force in the current loud rock scene, and achieved a miraculous one-night reunion at “BLARE FEST.2020,” thrilling both old and new fans. This work, “SUNRISE TO SUNSET,” is a 145-minute piece that encapsulates their journey, era, and influence through unreleased footage and testimonies from members and related persons, revealing their life as a rock band. The live was held without revealing the details of the participating members until the day, and featured live performances by three members other than K, with footage of K’s live performances projected, creating an unprecedented experience as if K himself was singing.
