墨は書や画でその心情すらも表現する黒の濃淡、それは「墨の五彩」と呼ばれます。明暗だけでなくその黒色にもほのかに違いがあり「青味の黒・赤味の黒」など煤（すす）の材料で色を変えます。【墨先染】は糸を「墨」で染めてから織ることで、繊細な模様の織地となりました。また南蛮貿易で入って来た縞模様は江戸っ子に持て囃され、【千筋】よりも細い縦縞が万入ると言う意味で【万筋（まんすじ）】と名付けられました。墨先染の味わい深い織地に、筆で描いたようなとても細い縞が入り、墨色の横糸が渡る事で複雑な縞模様を見せます。職人の手作業が生みだす風合いとともにお楽しみください。繊細で落ち着きのある趣がどんな空間にも合うデザインです。生地はざっくりとした織目で柔らかく手になじみの良い変わり織りです。
