※またまた快挙です。実力、名声に比して極端に録音の少ない大女流ヴァイオリニスト、イダ・ヘンデル。虚飾を排しながらも奥深い情熱が随所に発揮される稀有の存在です。
その極上の協奏曲ライヴ録音がしかもステレオで一気にリリース。共演指揮者も豪華そのもの。ブラームスは複数の録音が既出の得意レパートリーですが、ステレオ録音は初の登場。コンドラシンの恰幅の良い見事な伴奏が聴かせます! ベートーヴェンはクーベリックとのスタジオ録音、アンチェルとのライヴは共にモノラル録音だったので鬼才セーゲルスタム共演盤は大歓迎です。
ブリテン、シベリウスはベルグルントとの名盤で知られる、これもお気に入りのレパートリーですが、ライヴならではの生命力が当盤には満ち溢れております。ブリテンの演奏の後に、例のセクシーな声で自ら紹介してバッハをアンコールで聞かせてくれるのも最高。ラヴェル、ショーソンともに情念というか熱い血の迸りが感じられる濃い演奏。スウェーデンは彼女にとってお馴染みの土地であり繰返し客演を繰り返しました。スウェーデン放送による優秀なステレオ録音であることは言うまでもありません。
