This is an Igusa rug grown in Okinawa. Okinawa Big is derived from the original Igusa plant, but it refers to Igusa that has grown thick and strong over many years, adapting to Okinawa's harsh environment. It can only be produced in Okinawa, and the cultivation area is very small, making it an extremely rare product that is almost impossible to find in stores on the mainland. Compared to mainland Igusa, it is about 2-3 times thicker and about twice as heavy, making it durable and long-lasting. Consequently, its moisture absorption and release function, characteristic of Igusa, is also about twice as effective. It absorbs the muggy dampness of summer and prevents stickiness from sweat when lying down, offering a refreshing touch and a satisfyingly coarse feel. Over many years of use, the surface gradually turns a beautiful amber color, developing a luster as if it has been waxed. The lining uses 3mm of non-woven fabric to help prevent damage to flooring. This is a highly valuable item that showcases the skill of artisans, perfect for those who want to use good quality items for a long time or want something unique.
