SONY TA-F3000 Integrated Amplifier
* An integrated amplifier that inherits the design philosophy of the TA-F5000, aiming for high performance in a compact size.
* Equipped with a Toroidal Transformer developed jointly with a transformer manufacturer in the power supply section. This transformer has an elliptical cross-section for the core (iron core), unlike the usual rectangular shape, which increases the winding tension of the wire and reduces vibration to less than 1/4 compared to conventional models. This achieves a compact and sonically superior power supply. It further enhances the S.T.D. power supply circuit, which independently supplies power to the pre-amplifier and power amplifier sections, by adopting an Advanced S.T.D. power supply circuit, realizing a well-defined sound even at high volumes.
* MOS-FETs are used in the final stage of the power amplifier section. The bias circuit uses optical elements with the same temperature characteristics as MOS-FETs, and utilizes the high stability of MOS-FETs against temperature changes to adopt a Fixed Optical Bias circuit that virtually fixes the bias current. The single push-pull configuration reduces crossover distortion and ensures smooth sound quality.
* The heat sinks are independently configured for L/R from the voltage amplification stage to the final stage. The ground circuits are also separated to prevent mutual interference of noise between the pre-amplifier and power amplifier sections.
* The tone and balance circuits employ a center defeat volume. This volume control is designed so that when the knob is in the center position, the tone control and balance circuits are disconnected from the signal path. This allows the signal to bypass unnecessary circuits and eliminates the need for switches, resulting in purer sound quality.
* Equipped with a phono equalizer amplifier compatible with both MM and MC cartridges.
