For example:- Color Painting (Iroe)- Conventional color painting involves filling in the outlines with solid colors, but Koh Saburō Kiln applies a watercolor-like technique inspired by painting, creating soft, faint hues.
- Blue and White (Sometsuke)- Usually, cobalt pigment is painted first, then covered with glaze and fired.- At Koh Saburō Kiln, the painting is done on top of the glaze before firing.- During firing, the melted glaze causes the cobalt pigment to blend softly, resulting in a very gentle finish.- Both techniques are delicate and difficult, and each piece is a unique work of art created by the current master.
