Miyako Miyamoto's recording using the Arndt organ at the private school "Bach no Mori" in Tsukuba City, released in October 2017 as "Gifts from Bach's Forest ~ Orgelbüchlein ~", was well-received.

About the Artist

Miyako Miyamoto

Born in Tokyo in 1952.
After attending Juilliard Pre-College and Sacred Heart University, she completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees with honors at the New England Conservatory.
Subsequently, she studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam as a Dutch government scholarship student, obtaining a Soloist Diploma.
Studied under Professors A. Burney, the late Yuko Hayashi, H. Vogel, the late K. Boelt, and the late L.F. Tagliavini.
Since 1976, while using the clavichord as her primary instrument, she has performed on organs built between the 16th and 18th centuries in Europe, and on organs based on historical construction methods in the US and Japan.
Since 1980, she has widely introduced the clavichord domestically.
From 1982 to 1998, for 16 years, she favored a pedal clavichord designed by Keith Hill.
In 1989, the Ishii Memorial Organ (Taylor & Boody Organbuilders opus 17), in the 18th-century North German style, was installed at Ferris Hall on the Yamate Campus of Ferris University.
She served as a faculty member in charge of organs and clavichords until fiscal year 2017.
Furthermore, since performing at the International Clavichord Symposium in Magnano in 1995, she has conducted masterclasses in Italy, Germany, the US, and Japan.
From fiscal years 2004 to 2007, in conjunction with the installation of an organ at Harmony Hall Fukui, Fukui Prefectural Music Hall, she worked as a training course instructor, engaging in organ education for prefectural residents and organ popularization activities.
Currently, she is studying the background of chorales at the General Incorporated Foundation "Bach no Mori".
Member of the Japan Organists' Association, the Japan Organ Research Society, the Japan Clavichord Association, and the British Harpsichord Society.
