Soken Sya Awamen is a firm noodle made without using any buckwheat flour or wheat flour. It is finished with tapioca starch (processed starch) as a binder for millet (uruchiawa). It is produced at a dedicated domestic factory. It can be used with Chinese-style soups such as ramen-style.

This noodle is made using tapioca starch (processed starch) as a binder for millet, a grain that has been consumed since ancient times. It is rich in iron and also suitable for supplementing zinc and vitamin B1.

**How to Cook:**
1. Bring plenty of water to a boil in a large pot, then add the noodles and loosen them with chopsticks.
2. The noodles will be ready in about 5 minutes. Take out 2-3 strands to check the firmness. When it reaches your preferred level of doneness, turn off the heat, cover with a lid, and let it steam for 2 minutes.
3. After steaming, transfer the noodles to a colander and rinse with running water.
4. Serve with your preferred sauce and toppings.

*Note:* It also pairs well with Chinese-style soups, so you can enjoy it as ramen-style noodles.

**About Soken Sya:**
A food company with a history of over half a century, dedicated to quality foods. When it was founded in 1968, during Japan’s high economic growth period, many chemically synthesized flavorings, colorings, preservatives, and other food additives were being developed, and processed foods made through industrial methods for mass production were rapidly increasing.

Founder Takao Nakamura advocated that "what we eat and how we eat it always connects to how we live. Improving our diet is about improving our way of life." Concerned about the changing food environment in Japan, he established Soken Sya to deliver foods that promote health.

Over more than fifty years, the company has consistently pursued themes now recognized as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Rather than following food trends, the company maintains a perspective of "considering environmental and human health, questioning whether the current state is sustainable for society in the long term," and proposes alternative ideas in product form.

We call this stance a "Countervision Company," and we will continue to uphold a corporate attitude of making good choices for society.

When cooking, especially when transferring noodles to a colander, be careful not to burn yourself with hot water. Do not leave the noodles unattended during cooking. Do not fry the noodles (dry or cooked) in oil, as they will rapidly expand and oil may splatter, causing burns.
