This is a silicone mold suitable for various resins such as UV resin and epoxy resin. It is a bottom part of a dome that corresponds to the separately sold oval dome types "Oval Dome Small" and "Oval Dome Large." You can decorate by enclosing parts or other items inside.
【Important Notes Regarding This Design Mold】
■ UV Resin → Since it is not a mirror finish, after curing and removing, it will appear cloudy. Applying UV resin or a gloss varnish twice to coat the surface can produce a clean finish. The usability of abrasive agents depends on the UV resin used.
■ Epoxy Resin → Since it is not a mirror finish, after curing and removing, it will appear cloudy. Polishing with an abrasive agent can make it more transparent.
～ To achieve a more mirror-like finish ~
Spray a release agent onto the mold first, use a two-part mixed resin, and after curing and removing, polish with a soft cloth containing an abrasive agent. For a better finish, spray the release agent again and wipe lightly to produce a smoother surface.
*Depending on the resin material and type, minor adjustments may be necessary when fitting the dome.
＊If the lid is difficult to fit because it is large, sand it down with a file. If the lid is small and loose, apply more adhesive to adjust. Especially with UV resin, shrinkage due to heat may cause it to finish smaller.
Other methods include intentionally creating a burr and curing it, then cutting about 1mm to create a catch to make fitting easier.
■ Resin Clay → Cannot be used as it has weak strength.
■ Silicone Material → Cannot be used as it bonds during curing.
