A compact zoom lens with a total length of 91.8mm. Covers a wide-angle 17mm and achieves a large aperture of F2.8 throughout the zoom range. Excellent portability, suitable for snapshots, portraits, landscape photography, and more. Equipped with Optical Stabilizer (OS) for about 4 stops of correction. Provides a stable viewfinder image, making framing easy.
Uses two FLD (F Low Dispersion) glass elements, which boast performance comparable to fluorite, two glass-molded aspherical elements, and one hybrid aspherical element to effectively correct various aberrations. The adoption of super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. Rich peripheral light and sharp, high-contrast rendering from wide open, ensuring high image quality across the zoom range.
Equipped with HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) ultrasonic motor for fast and quiet autofocus. The minimum focusing distance is 28cm across the entire zoom range, with a maximum magnification of 1:5. The 7-blade circular aperture allows for round bokeh near wide open. The inner-focus design prevents front element rotation during focusing, enabling the use of petal-shaped hoods and easy use of circular polarizing filters.

A large-aperture standard zoom lens with image stabilization (OS) covering 17mm wide-angle. Exhibits high correction of camera shake, compact size of 91.8mm in length. Excellent portability, ideal for travel. Uses two FLD glass elements and three aspherical lenses to effectively correct aberrations.
Bright viewfinder makes it easy to confirm focus and compose shots. You can emphasize the subject by utilizing background bokeh, or choose a fast shutter speed to reduce subject shake and produce sharp images. The large aperture allows for benefits such as circular bokeh with the 7-blade aperture. The minimum focusing distance is 28cm across the zoom range, with a maximum magnification of 1:5, also effective for close-up photography. The 7-blade circular aperture allows for round bokeh near wide open.
Adoption of super multi-layer coating
The super multi-layer coating reduces flare and ghosting, providing sharp, high-contrast images from wide open and excellent performance across the zoom range.
For Sony A-mount, Pentax models do not feature the OS mechanism. Pentax models can autofocus when paired with bodies compatible with ultrasonic motors.
