About this product
It maintains high sharpness at all shooting distances, including close-up macro photography, as well as at infinity. Additionally, by focusing on correcting axial chromatic aberration that cannot be addressed by camera-side aberration correction functions, it enables delicate rendering and clear image quality without color bleeding.
The focus drive system uses a powerful HSM (hypersonic motor) to achieve high-precision and quiet autofocus.
The lens body is equipped with a focus mode switch, a focus limiter switch convenient for macro shooting, an AFL button that can be assigned to various functions, and an aperture ring with a click switch to turn on/off the clicking sound during macro operation. It also features an aperture lock switch for the aperture ring. These comprehensive functions allow customization of operation to suit your shooting style.

Even daily life exceeds expectations. Performance beyond expectations. From the standard macro to the ultimate one, Art line
105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO
A medium telephoto macro lens often chosen as basic equipment by professionals due to features like wide expression and easy working distance for shooting.
The 105mm F2.8 DG DN MACRO | Art, the first macro lens dedicated to mirrorless systems in the Art line, combines high-level performance expected of a medium telephoto macro lens, from optical performance to lens body build quality.
This high-spec macro lens is versatile for a wide range of uses from macro photography to portraiture, and its unique perspective can also serve as a trigger to rediscover the unexpected beauty and importance of everyday life. A standard medium telephoto macro that delivers performance beyond expectations and imagination.
Features
High-level realization of elements necessary for a medium telephoto macro
Thanks to optical design, it maintains high sharpness from the closest distances essential for macro photography to infinity. Additionally, by focusing on correcting axial chromatic aberration that cannot be addressed by camera correction functions, it achieves delicate rendering and clear image quality without color bleeding. The design also emphasizes expressive bokeh, which is often used in medium telephoto shooting.
With abundant peripheral light, beautiful bokeh can be obtained, and it also focuses on natural bokeh that does not interfere with the photographer’s expression, both front and back.
Furthermore, by using dedicated L-mount teleconverters TC-1411 (1.4x) and TC-2011 (2.0x), macro photography at higher magnifications is possible while maintaining the same working distance.
It realizes the elements necessary for a medium telephoto macro lens at a high standard.
Based on the core concept of the Art line, which prioritizes optical performance, it exhibits flat and high-resolution performance from the center to the periphery of the image.
Chromatic aberration at the edges of the image is also well corrected.
Moreover, ghost and flare countermeasures, thoroughly tested and improved from the early stages of development, provide high resistance to backlight.
In addition to optimization for face/eye priority AF unique to mirrorless camera systems, it employs a powerful HSM (hypersonic motor) for focus drive, achieving high-precision and quiet AF.
Features list: 12 groups, 17 elements (including 1 SLD glass)
Supports "lens optical correction" for high-speed AF. Limited to compatible cameras. Correction items vary by camera, and some perform automatic correction. Customers who can toggle aberration correction ON/OFF should set various aberration corrections to ON (AUTO) from the camera menu.
Dust and splash-proof structure. Designed to resist dust and water splashes, suitable for use in light rain, but not waterproof.
Water-repellent, anti-fouling coating
Super multi-layer coating
Aperture ring: When set to ON at position A, the aperture ring is locked at A. When turned ON at any other position, it is locked within the range from open to minimum aperture and cannot return to A.
AFL button
Focus limiter switch, focus mode switch, round hood
Compatible with SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-1411, TC-2011 (sold separately, for L-mount only)
Compatible with SIGMA USB DOCK UD-11 (sold separately, for L-mount only)
Design considers flare and ghosting, equipped with HSM (hypersonic motor), supports DMF (Direct Manual Focus) and AF+MF, internal focus, 9-blade circular aperture, high-precision and durable brass mount

Technologies incorporated
Dust and splash-proof structure: suitable for harsh professional shooting conditions. Seals at mount junctions, manual rings, zoom rings, operation switches, switch panels, and exterior joints.
Brass bayonet: uses a high-precision, robust brass mount. Surface-treated for increased strength and durability for long-term use, enabling high-quality lens manufacturing.
Water-repellent, anti-fouling coating: easily wipes off water droplets and prevents oil adhesion, aiding comfortable use in harsh conditions and easy maintenance of the lens surface.
AFL button: allows assignment of various functions from the camera, expanding operational options on the lens.
Aperture ring lock switch: prevents unintentional operation of the aperture ring during shooting.
Aperture ring click switch: equipped with a declutch mechanism to eliminate clicks, enabling silent and smooth aperture operation suitable for video recording.
Aperture ring: equipped with an aperture ring for intuitive operation.
Circular aperture: unlike typical polygonal apertures that produce polygonal bokeh when stopped down, the circular aperture is designed to produce round bokeh near wide open, such as reflections on water or point light sources in the background.
Special low-dispersion glass: due to differing refractive indices for different wavelengths, chromatic aberration occurs, causing color fringing and image shift, especially prominent in telephoto lenses, degrading image quality.
