Born in Tokyo in 1933, graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University. Director of the "Modern Children and Education Research Institute." Active in children's education in general, as well as Kanji and Japanese language education. Famous as the creator of the "Koshōhō" (oral recitation method) for character instruction.

Also author of over 150 other works including fairy tales, picture books, and educational books.
