Manufacturer's description
A thoroughly crafted trusted model
The first-generation Twin Power was at that time Shimano's top-grade spinning reel and took its first step. Its fundamental principle was simplicity and robustness. It was a product of the craftsmanship-oriented development team’s extensive real-fishing tests. Since the first generation, Twin Power has quickly adopted cutting-edge materials and mechanisms, and with coloring and design aligned with its concept, it has captivated anglers with a fresh appearance that coexists with confidence and excitement.
Today’s Twin Power is a core model within Shimano’s solid series that has laid the foundation for Shimano spinning reels, and the spirit of simplicity and robustness continues to be inherited.
Design refined through field experience
The reason Twin Power is both robust and sensual is perhaps because it feels like a tool that a craftsman has nurtured to fit their hand. The spool design, which can be considered the face of the 24 Twin Power, is not ostentatious but has a ruggedness, yet connects delicate lines silently, completing the look. It seems to speak to the angler’s sensibility. Not only owning it but also using it thoroughly can satisfy the angler’s heart. Among many spinning reels, many core anglers continue to use the historical Twin Power, perhaps for these reasons.
Body design aimed at excessive rigidity
The CI4+ used in Twin Power is reinforced with high-strength carbon fibers mixed into the resin, creating a strengthened structure. This carbon fiber composition achieves high rigidity compared to reinforced resin.
By combining CI4 and aluminum in the body, high rigidity is realized. Even with a body design using only CI4, sufficient rigidity is achieved for normal use.
However, what Twin Power has pursued over many years is excessive rigidity in real fishing. By adopting aluminum for the particularly load-bearing foot of the body, it possesses an unparalleled level of rigidity not found in other reels.
Aiming for overwhelming gear durability
The Infinity Cross reduces the load on gear tooth surfaces and dramatically improves durability. By increasing the contact area of the gears, it reduces damage to gears during power fights and jerks, maintaining optimal condition. This allows for higher-level routine fishing centered on reeling, with less need for constant thinking, and sharpened senses can sometimes awaken the angler’s instincts. Feeling subtle changes such as water flow, tide, lake currents, and fish behavior can be a significant advantage for anglers.
Powerful winding that always maintains the lead.
When the rod arcs widely and prevents the target from escaping, and when you put your hand on the handle knob, the force from your hand does not transfer to the reel. You cannot compete. Avoiding such moments is Infinity Drive, which allows powerful winding even under high load. Because it is a powerful reel, you can downsize the size compared to what you usually use, resulting in a stronger, more dominant winding that makes it easier to catch big fish.
Seamless casting feel
Infinity Loop realizes a casting feel where the angler forgets the line’s presence. That sensation is seamless and feels like releasing an arrow. The significant reduction in resistance during line release not only enables long casts but also contributes to stable fall speed after water entry.
For more comfortable fishing, line trouble suppression structure
An anti-twist fin that suppresses line slack and prevents line from slipping off the spool bottom, as well as reducing phenomena where the line is wound onto the spool while twisted. It prevents line winding and unnatural winding inside the spool, which many anglers have experienced with any spinning reel, enabling a more stress-free fishing experience.
Exceptional wear resistance, smooth and reliable drag performance
Duracross adopts a new drag washer material, increasing wear resistance. The smoothness of the drag is emphasized, suitable for light line fishing such as bass, trout, and light saltwater, and can handle unexpected large catches in inshore and shore fishing.
