Spiral X is a three-layer structure in which carbon tape is wound diagonally in opposite directions on the inner and outer layers of the rod's longitudinal fibers. The diagonal fibers inside and outside achieve high torsional rigidity and compressive rigidity while maintaining lightness. It improves instantaneous power transmission during fishing actions such as casting and fighting, and is Shimano's unique "basic structure" that enhances the fundamental strength for catching fish while maintaining lightness.
