Shimano's unique technologies, such as Spiral X Core for further high strength and Screw Lock Joint for improved fixing power and ease of removal at the joint, dramatically improve rod performance.

Spiral X Core
The next-generation basic structure evolved with the adoption of high-strength materials.
Shimano's unique design and manufacturing methods thoroughly pursue further high strength in all directions, including bending, twisting, and crushing. Carbon tape using high-strength resin realized by Nanotalloy Technology is used for Spiral X, Shimano's unique basic structure that enhances rod performance from the core. Further high strength is achieved with carefully selected materials. Compared to conventional structures, torsional strength is 1.4 times higher and crushing strength is 2.5 times higher. Furthermore, compared to Spiral X, torsional strength is increased by 10% and crushing strength by 15%. Nanotalloy is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc.
High Power X
An enhanced structure that further suppresses twisting that occurs during casting and fighting. It features carbon tape wrapped in an X shape over the outer layer of Spiral X or the carbon sheet cross-structure. This allows the rod's bend to maintain the direction intended by the angler, and the blank's inherent performance is fully utilized.
Nano Pitch
A method of wrapping the molding tape used in the blank baking process with an extremely fine pitch. Since the blank is tightened with uniform pressure, it greatly contributes to higher strength. The fine pitch also creates a high-quality exterior design.
Screw Lock Joint
A specially processed joint specification that achieves both high fixing power and ease of removal. When joining the rod, twisting it like a screw tightens it, increasing the fixing power and making it difficult for the joint to come off. When removing, twisting in the opposite direction easily releases the fixation. (Adopted for salt rods)
CI4+
CI4+, Shimano's unique material reinforced with carbon fiber, has been further evolved. It is characterized by being lighter and having higher strength compared to conventional resins.
