Shimano (SHIMANO) Double-axle reel 24 Balcetta Premium!! Smooth winding and natural fall performance. Equipped with micro module gear, HAGANE body, and X-SHIP for smooth winding feel and rigidity. The lightweight reel with a counter, Balcetta Premium, has been further updated. It features a one-way roller bearing and a new fall lever that does not make the handle rotation heavy even when applying brakes. This allows for precise and broad fall speed adjustments without spoiling the winding feel, suitable for metal stinger, cutlassfish, flounder, single-gear, sea bream, SLJ, and more. The improved visibility of the new line counter, along with the distance alarm that sounds at set intervals, enables you to grasp the distance from the tip without taking your eyes off, allowing you to know the depth. The handle is available in both single and double handle types, both 60mm long. Significantly lighter than previous models thanks to CI4+ material and detailed weight revisions, achieving a total weight reduction of over 30g (※) despite the HAGANE body. The body design is low-profile and easy to grip, providing nimble operation. ※Compared to previous model. The 60mm long handle, with a focus on durability, is equipped as standard on models 150, 151 with a cold-forged 60mm power handle, and on 150DHXG, 151DHXG, 150DH, 151DH with the longest Shimano double handle at 60mm. The large knob ensures a firm grip, improving stability during reeling and reducing fatigue during long fishing sessions. It supports powerful and stable retrieval even when using heavier metal stingers or weights, or fighting large bluefish. The new line distance alarm supports efficient approach. The newly installed line distance alarm on the Balcetta Premium detects the winding distance without needing to look at the counter. It starts measuring after the line hits the bottom. It sounds up to three times at multiples of the set distance, providing audible feedback on the winding distance. For example, at a 5m setting (A-5), it will beep three times at 15m from the bottom, informing the angler of the winding distance without looking at the counter. This allows for intuitive judgment based on sound, especially useful for following instructions like “react at 〇m from the bottom” or “lift 〇m after hitting the bottom” from the captain. It enhances focus on the target depth during retrieval from the bottom, making fishing more efficient. The line winding learning function has been simplified. It records the relationship between spool rotation and line amount on a digital counter, then uses this to display water depth. In addition to the previous model's learning function, it now includes data for PE lines 0.6/0.8/1.0/1.2/1.5, which are frequently used in this size. As long as the specified line is wound up to about 1mm outside the spool diameter, it is within a practical error range. ※Caution: The specified line learning value is based on winding the line up to about 1mm outside the spool diameter, including the line below the spool. Accuracy may decrease depending on the type of line, line tension, and outer diameter after winding. For more precise learning, use modes E1, E2, L1, or L2. This reel is recommended for everyone who wants to enjoy light game fishing on boats. Among the improvements in this model change, the first to experience and utilize in actual fishing is the NEW fall lever. The fall lever allows easy adjustment of fall speed by lever operation, but previously, the brake affected handle winding, so when using a metal stinger weighing 20-40g, setting a slower fall speed would also make winding heavier, requiring resetting the lever each time. The NEW fall lever does not interfere with handle winding, allowing for continuous winding at the set fall speed. This is very comfortable and useful in various fishing situations such as cutlassfish, light mackerel, preventing backlash during casting, or during fast tide. The 60mm handle length also makes winding easier in all situations, such as retrieving heavy rigs, enticing, or fighting large fish. The line distance alarm is also a significant benefit. It detects the winding distance without looking at the counter, alerting the angler with sound at a set distance, such as 10 meters. This helps focus on the lure action and find the depth efficiently, and also allows the angler to gauge their lure speed by sound. For example, in Osaka Bay, where a wider range of depths is used, or Tokyo Bay, where a narrower range is preferred, being able to change the alarm distance is useful. The visibility of the counter is also practical. With these features and specifications, the new Balcetta Premium has evolved significantly, including a substantial weight reduction from the previous model. The Balcetta Premium is a sibling model to Engetsu Premium and Grapper Premium, but while Engetsu is specialized for sea tuna and Grapper for light jigging, the Balcetta Premium is a versatile reel suitable for various fishing styles. It performs well with metal stingers, cutlassfish, light mackerel, as well as sea tuna and light jigging, making it recommended for everyone who wants to enjoy light game fishing on boats.
