Micro Module Gear
Achieves an unprecedented silky feel with small precision gears and an intricate body housing. Compared to conventional gears, vibration is less than half (our comparison), and the increased number of meshing teeth ensures greater strength than traditional gears. It is Shimano's unique gear system that balances smooth feeling and durability.
X-SHIP
Enlarged drive gear, proper placement of pinion and drive gears, and two-point support with bearing on the pinion gear. These robust gear engagements maintain a light, powerful reeling under load.
HAGANE Body
Uses lightweight yet rigid metals such as aluminum and magnesium to firmly suppress reel flex, distortion, and twisting. Protects delicate gear engagement and enables smooth reeling.
Magnum Light Spool
The inertia moment of the spool, which influences casting performance, has been reduced by blanking and thinning the spool body. The Magnum Light spool features holes drilled into the spool side, a feat previously considered technically impossible. Achieves about 10% reduction in inertia compared to our previous models, resulting in significantly increased casting distance.
S3D Spool
The overall manufacturing process of the spool has been completely revised, greatly improving spool accuracy. As a result, casting noise has been reduced (our comparison).
I-DC5
In addition to a three-mode internal dial, it features a five-step external dial for selection. Uses four-pole magnetic ring magnets to suppress backlash and provide appropriate braking.
Super Free Spool
