Ocea Armor Joint, the "another armor joint" dedicated to SW big game

Equipped with Armor Boost mechanism to overcome the flight distance weakness of joint baits, which was a unique flaw of the 2022 joint bait, and released targeting three species: black bass, sea bass, and flatfish. At the same time, a prototype model called the "another armor joint" was being tested, which is the Ocea Armor Joint dedicated to SW big game. In this fishing where distance is absolutely critical, it is unthinkable for it not to fly far. Due to the structural design of the body with a joint, the flight distance is less than that of a pencil or popper with a rear center of gravity. However, by incorporating Armor Boost and stabilizing the flight posture, it can achieve more stable flight distances than joint baits of the same size, providing a stress-free user experience. Additionally, the Ocea Armor Joint, capable of swimming actions different from existing topwaters like pencils and poppers, offers a new option for SW big game.

Bringing the joint bait's feeding ability into the offshore casting world.

It is well known that the remarkable feeding ability of joint baits has a tremendous effect on many fish-eaters, including black bass and sea bass. Can this power of joint baits be utilized in offshore scenes? Considering this, during the testing phase of the "Bantam Armor Joint 280SF," a prototype tuned for offshore casting was used for GT and yellowtail casting, and very strong responses were obtained. Having gained a solid response, we started development to propose a new option different from the standard diving pencil or popper in offshore casting games.

Armor Boost technology that overcomes the fatal weakness of joint baits, flight distance performance.

Flight distance is a very important factor in offshore casting scenes. However, the weakness of joint baits is their flight distance. Due to their flat shape and jointed body, air resistance increases, and flight stability is compromised. To create a joint bait capable of practical use in terms of distance, overcoming this challenge was essential for the birth of Ocea joint baits. The adopted solution was "Armor Boost" technology. By folding the front and rear bodies into a compact two-piece, it fundamentally overcomes the weakness of joint baits—body rotation and wobbling during casting. This technology has revolutionized castability and accuracy, surpassing previous images of joint baits.

In offshore casting, wind conditions during follow-up are often present. With a tailwind, do not fold the body; instead, catch the wind firmly and let the body twist in the air during flight. In headwind conditions, the lure experiences air resistance, and during flight, the body folds to reduce air resistance.

When casting, the body, which is folded in two, is fixed in place by a magnetic special plate after water entry. The Ocea Armor Joint 220F ARMABOOST revives and, without breaking, swims smoothly to appeal to targets.

ラムリップ, a ram lip that coexists with the lure's feeding ability and bubble appeal power, unique to joint baits.

To coexist with the alluring swimming action unique to joint baits and the appeal power to attract fish from vast open fields, the "Ram Lip" was born. By shaping the upper half of the front part of the body into a small cup shape similar to a popper, it generates water push, bubbles, and sound when jerked, enhancing appeal. Normally, the front shape of the body creates resistance, which spoils the alluring swimming action characteristic of joint baits. The true essence of Ram Lip is breaking this contradiction, balancing swimming and appeal power. The protruding lip beneath the cup tears through the water, enabling the swimming action to coexist with the appeal. It combines the appeal power approaching that of diving pencils and poppers with the alluring swimming of joint baits.

No compromise on strength standards. Through-hardened wire achieving the same strength as existing Ocea plugs.

In big game scenarios, a concern with joint baits is tensile strength. To withstand the speed and power of large fish weighing 30kg, 40kg, the Ocea Armor Joint 220F incorporates as much wire through-hardened technology as possible. Even if the body breaks, it is designed to continue fighting and reach line landing. The tensile strength of stainless steel wire meets the same standards as existing Ocea plugs, allowing confident use targeting large fish. Regarding the development of Armor Boost, there is no notion that "it's just because it's a joint bait."

Adopts assist eyelets to support a variety of hook settings.

The rear body features an assist eyelet to accommodate diverse hook arrangements. For example, when targeting summer yellowtail that prey on highly mobile bait, it is not uncommon for bites to occur at the tail without hooking. In such cases, attaching a single hook with an assist to the assist eyelet can bring the bite to a hook-up. Use the three line eyes to combine treble hooks, assist hooks, or twin hooks, and try various hook settings according to the situation or preference.
