Master Tune: Eel Length

Challenging the formidable Eel Grunt, this model was developed to protect weak points in the setup from being taken advantage of in situations where the advantage has been lost, and to overcome adversity. The keywords are 'flexibility' at an angle that does not make the fish feel beaten, and 'power' to stop the fish's run and bring it to the surface. It uses flexible low-rebound materials to ensure overall rod suppleness, combined with Spiral X core and thick diameter design to enhance power.

Product features

Spiral X core

Using Shimano's original design and manufacturing method, aiming for higher strength through bending, torsion, and crushing. The basic structure of Shimano's Spiral X, which enhances rod performance from the core, is combined with high-strength resin carbon tape realized through Nano Alloy Technology. Selected materials achieve further high strength. Torsion strength is increased by 1.4 times, and crushing strength by 2.5 times. Torsion strength is improved by 10%, and crushing strength by 15%.

X Guide

The X Guide, born from the perspective of rod manufacturers, was developed to fully bring out the potential of the blank. Shimano's original high-performance guide that combines lightness, trouble-free operation, and high-level casting performance.

Tough Tech (Infinity)

Tough Tech achieves three times the winding strength and five times the winding amount compared to general solid. It is a high-strength solid tip that surpasses Tough Tech α.

Parabola Tune / Parabola Tune R / Parabola Tune R+

Parabola Tune is designed to realize smooth action by reviewing the joint parts of each section and eliminating rigidity steps while maintaining strength. It successfully produces a smooth action and power comparable to one-piece rods. Additionally, for use as a dedicated rocky shore rod, the Parabola Tune R optimizes the thickness of the blanks at each joint to allow the entire rod to bend smoothly, and the Parabola Tune R+ revises the taper relationship of the front and rear sections to enable even smoother bending point movement.

Core blanks

By integrating Spiral X core, Parabola Tune, and X Guide, strength, lightness, and toughness are improved. Next-generation blanks that realize high-level operability and hooking action required for rocky shore rods.

CI4+

An evolved version of Shimano's proprietary material CI4, reinforced with carbon fiber, called CI4+. It is characterized by being lighter and having higher strength than conventional resins.

Barrier Finish

A special coating applied to the surface of the blank significantly reduces dirt adhesion. Its excellent water-repellent and anti-fouling properties allow dirt to be easily washed off with water, maintaining the rod's beauty.

Hyper Non-Contact II

By applying a special convex coating called 'dots' on the surface of the blank, friction resistance when line contacts the rod is reduced. It prevents line sticking even under adverse conditions such as rain and splashes.

Shimano original screw seat

Thorough pursuit of a shape that fits the palm and is slip-resistant. Uses lightweight, high-strength material CI4 for high strength. A screw seat that suppresses looseness and wobbling.

Matte rubber coating (reel seat part, butt end part)

Provides grip and operability that are less slippery even with wet hands. The butt end part also enhances contact with the elbow, allowing stable handling even after hooking a fish.
