Store explanation by manufacturer
Stimulate predatory instincts. A big bait dedicated to hunters seeking lunker-sized fish.

Big baits can sometimes have a tremendous effect due to their appeal, but a disadvantage caused by their structure is the problem of cast accuracy. Especially, the lure spinning during cast reduces precision when targeting pinpoint spots and affects casting distance. Therefore, Shimano developed Arma Boost as an original mechanism. It allows for accurate casts near bridge piers and long-distance throws in open areas.

Bendable for better flight. Designed with a focus on accuracy performance.

Effects brought by Arma Boost

The secret to the increased cast distance and Arma Boost lies in the structure of the joint part. One feature is that during casting, the body folds into a round shape, reducing wind resistance. This makes it harder to spin, improving both distance and accuracy. We designed it to be easy to use in a wide range of situations, from targeting structures near bridge piers to fishing in open water.

Petite lock to prevent line tangles

To reduce line hook tangles, the hook eye position was carefully adjusted and repeatedly tested. This resulted in the optimal hook eye placement. Additionally, to enhance usability, Shimano's original Petit Lock is equipped. This mechanism, also used in NESSA's "Metal Drive," semi-fixes the hook eye to the body. Normally, when the body folds, line tangles tend to occur frequently, but this feature balances increased casting distance with ease of use and reduced line tangles.

Magnetic force and semi-fixed idea

While folding the body dramatically improved cast distance, achieving both this and action was very difficult. This was the most challenging part. During testing, the Arma Boost's joint had a wide range of motion, which caused water resistance to be naturally deflected, resulting in unnatural action. To solve this, the idea of using magnetic force was employed. The plate used in the joint is designed so that a built-in magnet semi-fixes the lure during swimming. This stabilizes the joint's range of motion and allows for natural, smooth lure action. It supports both fast and slow retrieves. During casting, the magnet lock is released, ensuring the lure is properly folded for stable flight. Using magnetic semi-fixation, the lure achieves the lively movement of a big bait without sacrificing cast distance.

Appeals just below the water surface where bites are frequent. To deceive lunker-sized fish.

The Exsence Arma Joint is set at 190mm in floating type. The reason is to target the water surface zone where seabass are easily fooled. It is designed as a floating type to appeal in this bite zone while slowly using wave motion. The 190mm size matches large baitfish like konoshiro and falling sweetfish, making it effective for targeting lunker-sized seabass due to its presence.

Action design tailored for seabass. The wave effect created by the large body.

The action is a tight wobble-roll, set to be more subdued compared to the Nessa "Arma Joint 150S," which has the same structure, to handle high-pressure seabass points. Please try the potential of this practical sub-surface joint bait category, which has not been common for seabass lures, for catching lunker seabass.

FEATURE (Features)

Arma Boost

Arma Boost overcomes the critical weakness of joint baits—lure rotation during casting—by compactly folding the body. It achieves unprecedented long-distance casting and accuracy for big and joint baits. After water entry, a dedicated plate connecting the body is semi-fixed with a magnet, reproducing the smooth swimming characteristic of joint baits.

Flash Boost

Reflective mirror plate with continuous reflection, unique structure

The Flash Boost mechanism suspends a reflector inside the body with a spring. It uses vibrations from rod actions and spring oscillations to keep the lure shimmering with small flashes even during drift, without active movement.

Scale Boost

Realistic hologram pattern mimicking baitfish scales. Using a complex pitch hologram, it creates intricate reflections underwater similar to real baitfish scales. A lineup of holograms suited to various scenes.

Average cast distance: 52m

The flight posture where the body folds enhances cast accuracy performance.
