Spiral X Core

An evolved next-generation basic structure using high-strength materials.

Designed and manufactured with Shimano's proprietary methods, thoroughly pursuing higher strength against bending, twisting, and crushing in all directions. Uses Shimano's unique basic structure Spiral X, combined with high-strength resin carbon tape realized through Nano Alloy Technology. Selected materials achieve further high strength. Compared to general structures, torsion strength is 1.4 times, compression strength is 2.5 times. Also, compared to Spiral X, torsion strength is increased by 10, and compression strength by 15. Nano Alloy is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc.


High Power X

A reinforced structure that further suppresses twisting during casting and fighting. Features include the outer layer of Spiral X or a cross-structure of carbon tape tightened in an X-shape over the vertical and horizontal carbon sheets. This maintains the bending direction as intended by the angler and fully demonstrates the inherent performance of the blank.


Nano Pitch

A method of wrapping the molding tape used in the blank finishing process at an extremely fine pitch. This allows the blank to be pressed with more uniform pressure, greatly contributing to increased strength. The fine pitch also creates a high-quality appearance design.







Screw Lock Joint

A special processing joint that enhances fixation while maintaining ease of disassembly. When twisting the joint during assembly, it tightens like a screw, increasing fixation strength and making it difficult for the joint to come apart. When disassembling, twisting in the opposite direction easily releases the fixation. (Used in saltwater rods)


CI4+

An evolved version of Shimano's proprietary material CI4, reinforced with carbon fiber, called CI4+. It features lighter weight and higher strength compared to conventional resins.
