Spiral X Core
An evolved next-generation basic structure using high-strength materials.
Designed with Shimano's unique design and manufacturing methods to thoroughly pursue higher strength against bending, twisting, and crushing in all directions. Uses a carbon tape made with high-strength resin realized through Nano Alloy technology, which enhances the rod's fundamental performance. Achieves 1.4 times the torsional strength and 2.5 times the crushing strength compared to conventional structures. Compared to Spiral X, it achieves a 10 increase in torsional strength and a 15 increase in crushing strength. Nano Alloy is a registered trademark of Toray Industries, Inc.
High Power X
A reinforced structure that further suppresses twisting during casting and fighting. Features a spiral X outer layer or a cross-structure of carbon sheets, reinforced with carbon tape in an X-shape over the structure. This maintains the bending direction as intended by the angler and fully demonstrates the original performance of the blank.
Nano Pitch
A method of wrapping molding tape with extremely fine pitch during the process of baking the blank. This allows the blank to be pressed with more uniform pressure, greatly contributing to increased strength. The fine pitch also creates a high-quality appearance design.
Screw Lock Joint
A special processing joint that enhances fixing power while maintaining ease of disassembly. When twisting the joint during assembly, it tightens like a screw, increasing fixation strength and making the joint less likely to come apart. When disassembling, twisting in the opposite direction easily releases the fixation. (Used in saltwater rods)
CI4+
An evolved version of Shimano's proprietary material CI4, reinforced with carbon fibers, called CI4+. It is characterized by being lighter and having higher strength compared to conventional resins.
