Manufacturer's description
As the core model of the Magnum Light series, which pursues lightness and reeling response, Vanford is active in a wide range of games including technical and finesse styles. It inherits the nimble operability, sensitivity, and comfortable winding feel of the previous model, while the inclusion of Infinity Cross and Infinity Drive greatly improves powerful winding and gear durability. The adoption of Duracross, which has excellent abrasion resistance, has significantly improved drag durability—about 10 times compared to previous Shimano standards. Additionally, the anti-twist fin suppresses line trouble, further enhancing comfortable handling. The 13 items cover area trout, bass fishing, eging, seabass, and shore jigging, making it a lineup suitable for the new era of lure games.
Concentrated mechanism, intense personality
A sporty form that suggests practical tools. A symbolic red accent that emphasizes three-dimensionality. The 24 Vanford aims for a balanced combination of functionality and lightness with a sleek, tight design. As a partner that accompanies you throughout the day, it has a personality worthy of the Vanford name. Lightness, operability, and a sense of solid winding. The slim and sharp silhouette embodies unwavering trust cultivated through practical experience.
New possibilities brought by the lightness of the rotor
In games that prioritize agility, the key is whether you can control the start of lure movement, action variations, or uniformity of reeling at will. The Magnum Light series focuses on this, introducing a lightweight Magnum Light rotor. By thoroughly eliminating waste and reducing inertia, it improves the response of initial reeling and stopping, sharpening the angler's sense and operability.
What low inertia means is that the reel's rotation can start with light force and can be controlled precisely with minimal force when stopping. This greatly enhances the accuracy of誘い using winding and stopping.
Compared to metal or high-strength resin rotors, the Magnum Light rotor of the 24 Vanford achieves significant weight reduction. It is about 34% lighter than the high-strength resin rotor of the 23 Stradic. It greatly contributes to improved lure operation response and the angler's tactile sensitivity, expanding the possibilities of new game styles.
Carbon fiber reinforced resin CI4+ that brings true lightweightness
True lightweight design in reels means achieving a new level of lightness without compromising strength or durability. Vanford aims to resolve this contradiction by adopting Shimano's proprietary carbon fiber reinforced resin CI4+ for the body and rotor. Despite being lightweight, CI4+ has excellent rigidity, suppressing deformation of the reel body and firmly guarding internal structures such as gear meshing. It maintains smooth rotation performance and drag performance over the long term.
Lightness, sensitivity, toughness. The core of the evolved MGL series
Infinity Cross
Overwhelming gear durability through precise design and manufacturing technology.
Design of gear teeth: Advances in drive gear and pinion gear contact surface area through improved manufacturing technology. As a result, the load on gear teeth is more widely dispersed. This prevents concentrated damage and doubles the durability compared to conventional designs.
Infinity Drive
Powerful winding that always maintains the lead.
By supporting the main shaft, which was previously supported by a pinion gear, with a special low-friction bushing, sliding resistance is greatly reduced. Additionally, applying a special surface treatment to the main shaft reduces rotational torque. The reel has evolved to actively wind even under high load.
Anti-twist fin
Line trouble suppression structure for more comfortable fishing.
An elastic fin is installed near the line roller to suppress line slack. This reduces phenomena such as line slipping off the spool bottom or line winding onto the spool while tangled.
Dura Cross
Outstanding abrasion resistance, smooth and reliable drag performance.
A new drag washer made with new materials: woven with fibers orthogonal to those in conventional drag washers, reinforcing the material. It maintains smooth drag performance while increasing abrasion resistance by more than 10 times.
