The Colt Sniper SS aims to balance these two seemingly contradictory elements at a high level, maintaining lightweight while increasing power compared to the previous model. Additionally, the grip and joint parts incorporate technologies used in flagship models, pursuing a usability comparable to higher-end models.

The secret to balancing the lightweight and strength of the blanks lies in Shimano's Spiral X and Hyper Power X technologies. Spiral X is a three-layer structure where carbon tape is diagonally wrapped in opposite directions on the inner and outer layers of the rod's vertical fibers. It enhances instant power transmission in all fishing actions, from casting to fighting fish, supporting the angler's comfortable fishing experience. Hyper Power X is a technology that further tightens the blank with carbon tape in an X-shape, reducing twisting during fights and casts. Using these Shimano-exclusive blank designs achieves a balance of lightness and strength.

Screw Lock Joint
The Screw Lock Joint is Shimano's proprietary technology that connects the blanks by screwing them together. In shore jigging, where fighting large fish is expected, preventing looseness at the joint is crucial to fully utilize the blank's power.
