多摩美術大学大学院絵画専攻を修了後、同大学助手、美術雑誌の副編集長を経て、現在カルチャースクール講師など。2006年4月～6月までNHK「趣味悠々「日帰りで楽しむ風景スケッチ」、2007年4月～6月同番組「色鉛筆で楽しむ日帰り風景スケッチ」、2009年4月～6月同番組「水彩で描くにっぽん絶景スケッチ紀行」に講師として出演、著書も多数。
