■ Additional Notes on the Product ■"Shagaku" is a Japanese monthly magazine published by Shogakukan, primarily focusing on photography.
It was first published on April 25, 1980 (Showa 55) and ceased publication in 1985 (Showa 60).
Overview:From the June issue released on April 25, 1980 (Showa 55), to the February 1986 (Showa 61) issue released on December 23, 1985, a total of 69 issues were published over a period of five and a half years.
The concept was "Enjoying photos as you enjoy sound."
The name "Shagaku" is a coined term that also served as the origin of the magazine's title.
The reason for the magazine's suspension was stated by the editor-in-chief at the final issue as "various circumstances."
The magazine featured actresses and other women on the cover and in the front gravure sections, often using nude photographs by famous photographers or models with high public interest, which contributed to its popularity.
Kishin Shinoyama's "Gekisha" series sold 100,000 copies each, and especially in 1978 (Showa 53), the photo book "Da Gekisha 135-nin no Onna Tomodachi" became a bestseller. This success led to the magazine's planning and launch as a photography magazine centered around Shinoyama.
