The arcade system board that supported the golden age of 20th-century video games is the "Sega System 16." Equipped with a 16-bit CPU and FM sound source, many of Sega's famous titles were created on this system board.
In 2010, the 25th anniversary of the birth of "System 16," a series unprecedented in the game music world was launched, reflecting on the glorious history of System 16 titles through music, released consecutively in four albums.
The first volume includes 11 titles released from 1986 to mid-1987, such as "Fantasy Zone," "Quartet," and "Alien Syndrome," recorded on three CDs in order of appearance. Four titles, including "Action Fighter," are being soundly remastered for the first time, and three titles are recorded with all songs for the first time. It also includes rare tracks such as unused music from "Alien Syndrome" and stereo versions of "Bullet," making their first appearance on this CD.
Regarding the sound quality of older game sound sources, Wave Master developed new equipment for this album production, successfully removing electronic noise specific to the circuit boards to the extreme. As a result, all music, including those from previously released CDs, has been re-recorded with two loops. Enjoy clearer sound quality made possible by digital recording with refined sound.
