In 1989, the first Sega hardware-focused magazine in Japan, "BEEP! Mega Drive," was launched.
Its lineage continued with "Sega Saturn Magazine" and "Dreamcast Magazine," riding through the eras alongside Sega hardware.
In recent years, with the 25th anniversary of Sega Saturn, the 30th anniversary of Mega Drive, the 20th anniversary of Dreamcast, and the 60th anniversary of Sega, various milestone years followed one after another.
As a result, the assets of the historical Sega hardware magazines were reassembled.
We compile a commemorative book suitable for celebrating these milestones.
■ Not just a simple reprint, but a true commemorative book
The Sega hardware magazines starting with "BEEP! Mega Drive" total over 300 issues, exceeding 50,000 pages in total.
Publishing these past issues as mere "reprints" would be an overwhelming amount of information.
Even if a long reprint edition were edited, only about 1-2% of the content could be included.
The probability of readers being able to reunite with their cherished "memories of the magazine" is extremely low.
Therefore, this book aims to reproduce the "spirit" of the Sega hardware magazines since "BEEP! Mega Drive" by offering more than just reprints, creating a memorial content.
Specifically, it involves "participation of genuine staff who worked on the magazines at the time" and "reorganization of vast information."
The editors who directly worked on the magazines at the time are involved.
They were professionals who pursued hardware on the media front during the Mega Drive era and were at the forefront.
Their gathering aims to deliver "truly valuable content."
Additionally, among the 50,000 pages of information, records of various events surrounding Sega hardware and its peripherals are included.
By systematically reorganizing necessary information from past issues, it extracts historically valuable data that can be referenced.
● "Sega Hardware Historia" main volume
Includes memorial interviews with "key persons of the time" conducted by "the staff of that era," and reprints of final results of reader-participation projects like "Reader Race," which recognized masterpieces and flops, offering content unique to SoftBank's Sega hardware magazines.

A comprehensive catalog of over 300 magazines.
